Acopia’s Adaptive Resource Switch can optimize, adapt, and control your storage
resources through namespace configuration and file migration. The sections below
summarize the configuration steps for each of these solutions.
Optimizing Storage in a Namespace Volume
A namespace is a group of file systems under a single authentication domain. A
namespace is comprised of one or more volumes, where each volume is like a discrete
file system. A volume is composed of shares, where each share maps to an export or
share on an actual back-end filer. The volume can contain shares from multiple
back-end filers, but the client sees a single mount-point or share-point.
